New legislation aims to overhaul Medicaid, which provides healthcare access for millions of people with disabilities
New legislation has proposed an overhaul of the Medicaid system, including cuts to funding and services. According to data from Medicaid.gov, Medicaid and the Children's Health Insurance Program (CHIP) provide essential health coverage to nearly 80 million people in the U.S., including millions of people with disabilities, children from low-income homes, and older adults.

- Georgetown University Center for Children and Families Medicaid webinar: A free webinar taking place on March 4, 2025 at 3 p.m. EST to discuss Medicaid's positive impact on families in crisis and foster youth. Hear from people with lived experience as well as experts while learning about the impact of current Congressional deliberations about Medicaid.
- Caring Across Generations Project Medicaid bi-weekly meeting: A free, bi-weekly call to coordinate between state and national organizations to educate policymakers, and develop and share resources amongst Medicaid advocates. Next meeting is March 5, 2025 at 1 p.m. EST.
